When I received the Zoom Groom was very skeptical. It had only been a few weeks after I had posted my review about the Grip n Groom brushes which I adored (in case you didn’t read the review) so seeing something that looks odd shaped and trying to resemble a brush made me want to just put it on the shelf and forget about it.
My husband suggested I give it a try so I did.
I wish I had gotten a hold of this before the Grip n Groom brush.. heck I wish I had gotten one of these long ago as sadly Miss Bitty had passed before it arrived in the mail so I will never know how she would have reacted to it, but all the other fur children love it.
I even tried it on Miss Trixie (our foster failure) the other day and she liked it.
Let’s get to the pros and cons
It looks like no other brush/comb I’ve ever seen,
it’s rubberized so it won’t break if dropped or chewed on or batted at
It traps the fur in the rubber teeth and it’s pretty easy to pull out
Though it does trap some fur, a lot of it is left on the cat or on your clothes, so have a lint roller nearby
It doesn’t have a handle so it may create an issue with those who have carpel tunnel or arthritis – my hand starts cramping after 15-20 minutes of brushing
It’s rubberized (which is a pro sometimes) but I wouldn’t recommend using this after giving your cat a bath
The awkward shape make it hard to put into a purse or backpack without a weird bulge
Where to find it:
Amazon, Petco, Petsmart, Kong website (they are the makers), most pet supply stores should have them as well
I balk at the thought of paying $7 or more for a brush, but honestly it brings joy to my short and medium haired cats and makes the cat fur clean up pretty easy. So it’s worth it especially since I’ve tried years to find a brush everyone can agree on.
I would love to know what everyone thinks of this product, please let me know.
Author’s Note: I received the Zoom Groom in the petbox I won online at a BlogPaws Chat back in December. I was not paid for this review and my opinion is my own.
