How old are you?
The vet thinks I’m 2-3 years old.
Where did your name come from?
I’m a tortie, and when Mommy first saw my picture on Petfinder she immediately thought I looked like a dainty, delicious little truffle
How did you come to live with your Mommy?
My predecessor, Mommy’s beloved Tara, went to the Rainbow Bridge on July 7th following a 2 year battle with diabetes, congestive heart failure, and a splenic mass. Mommy’s life was devoted to Tara and a part of her heart went with her when she passed. Almost as difficult was adjusting to living without a kitty. It was unbearable, and she knew she wanted another tortie, because we’re such special little ladies. She started looking at the adoptable cats from the Franklin County Humane Society (St Albans, VT), where Tara was adopted from, hoping that another tortie from the same area might possibly be one of Tara’s descendants. (Tara was adopted at around age 7, she had been a stray who up until that time had not been spayed and likely had many litters.) I had been brought to the shelter by a nice lady who found me wandering around her summer camp. The day my picture popped up she fell in love! On August 20th I moved to my forever home!
Where do you like to sleep?
I love sleeping in my kitty lounger mini that I won from Glogirly and Peach Industries. At some point during the night I usually wind up in bed with Mommy
What do you like to play with?
I love jumping around with a piece of string (only under supervision, of course), and I’m crazy about playing with a stick hidden under a piece of cool crinkle paper! I also like paper balls and skateboarding across the dining room on a paper bag. I’m a simple girl who doesn’t need fancy schmancy toys!
Do you snuggle up with your Mommy when she’s reading?
If she’s reading in bed, yes, but I’m not much of a lap cat yet so when she’s reading on the couch I stay nearby in my lounger.
Does she ever read out loud to you?
Not yet! I’m going to need to ask her to do that next time she’s reading a fun kitty book!
What are your 5 favorite books?
I had to ask Mommy this one and she said her most recent favorite cats books are: Love Saves the Day by Gwen Cooper, A Forever Home for Athena by Marie Symeou, Whiskerslist by Angie Bailey, Cat Nap by Claire Donally, and the Ghost Cat books by Jessica Beck. Basically if it has a cat on the cover she’ll love it!
Is there anything you would like to add about yourself, your Mommy or your blog?
Mommy says that when she was a little girl she hated naptime, but her mom (my new grandma!) would put her down for some quiet time anyways. Even then she had a stack of books in one corner of her bed and a kitty in the other. Over 30 years later she is still always surrounded by cats and books, they are her bliss, and she couldn’t be happier having the opportunity to be blogging about both. I’m so excited that she’s my forever Mommy and that I’m her co-blogger!!!
