Miss Bentley, How old are you?
Miss Bentley, Where did your name come from?
I know fur a girl I have an odd name, guess that’s why people sometimes think I’m a boy. MOL My purrents are both huge fans of Tottenham Hotspur, a football (soccer) club located in North London (that’s where my daddy is from). I’m named after a guy who used to play fur our team. His name is David Bentley and mummy says quite the little cutie. Mummy wanted a name that went well with my sisfur Harley’s name so now my purrents have a Harley and a Bentley!
Miss Harley, your turn, how old are you and where did your name come from?
I am 10 years old and will be 11 in March. When I was adopted mummy searched and searched fur a good name fur me. Any name she liked, she said it just didn’t suit me. Then it occured to her that my colours; black, white and I have a little bit of orange on my legs well those are the colours of Harley Davidson and that is how I got my name. Like Bentley, because of my name I get mistaken fur a boy lots but that’s ok. I’m a seriously happy girl so nothing bothers me!!
For the both of you, were you both adopted together?
We were both adopted from the SPCA in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada, that’s where we’re originally from. I (Harley) was adopted in 2004 and Bentley was adopted in 2009. Mummy said with both of us it was lubs at first sight.
What did you think of moving to Germany from Canada? Did you have to be quarantined?
Moving to Germany was a huge adventure! Our daddy did research online and found a pawsome pet courier to look after our move. Umm, don’t know if we can mention the name but he used PetRelocation.com. All they do is move animals all over the world. They were very friendly and helpful and the purrents both said it was a huge relief knowing such a good company was looking after us. We drove 6 hours from Saskatoon to Calgary then flew 9.5 hours to Frankfurt. Once in Frankfurt, the courier company got us off the plane and made sure we were ok, they took all our Canadian paperwork to a German vet because it all had to be translated into German then they brought us through Customs where all our paperwork was stamped and we were legal to be in the country. Then they drove us 2 hours to our new home in Cologne. Because we came from Canada and all our shots were up to date and we had documents from our vet saying we were healthy we didn’t have to do any quarantine, we got to go straight to our new home to be with mummy and daddy.
Miss Bentley, I heard you have a room in your house with ceiling to floor windows, is it true?
OMC, yes! Actually in our new home we just moved to in July we have 2 rooms like that. Daddy set up bird feeders fur us so lots of birdies come to visit and Jackson and I do lots of birdie watching!! Lately there has been the fattest, cutest birdie coming to visit. We need to find a good name fur this birdie!
Miss Harley, what do you do when you get to go outside?
Oh I lubs being outside! Our new home, we have 2 big balconies and a HUGE terrace. Daddy and I go out onto the terrace all the time to play with my throw ring, I can play fur hours! BOL The purrents also take me fur walks and we always see lots of other doggies. Germany is very doggie friendly. We can go anywhere over here; on the buses, trams and trains, we can go into malls, shops and even restaurants! I’ve been to a few outdoor restaurants and I’ve even been inside a restaurant a couple times. They even brought me my very own doggie bowl of water while the purrents ate. I lubbed it!! I’m a very happy girl so I lubs being outside and being sociable.
For the both of you, when Jackson was adopted was it hard to understand him since he’s German?
When Jackson first came to live with us, neither of us really knew what to make of him. He was 7 weeks old when the purrents adopted him. Because Jackson is German he would say Miau instead of Meow and the purrents explained to us that he was a Kätzchen (German fur kitten). Jackson is fluent in English now so we understand him just fine. He’s a brat though! MOL Baby brofurs can be a lot of work. Geesh!!
Jackson, what would you like to say about your new forever home?
OMC, I lubs my furever home! The day my purrents came to the Tierheim (that’s animal shelter in German) I was busy playing with the other kittens and all of a sudden mummy bent down and picked me up, held me up close to her face and said I was just the cutest kitten and that she lubbed me. I couldn’t believe my ears! When they brought me to my furever home I was really freaked out when I saw Harley. I had never seen a kitty so big!! The purrents had to explain to me that she was actually a doggie, not a kitty but that she was my big sisfur and she would lubs me lots and lots. It took Bentley a couple months to really warm up to me but now she gives me baths all the time even though I can be annoying. I’m always pouncing on her and I try to steal her toys. But I lubs my family. The purrents spoil us and they lubs us more than I can say. I am definitely a lucky kitty!
Anything else you would like to add?
The 3 of us would just like to say what an honour it is to be interviewed. We know this would never have been possible without having our Facebook page. We have met and made the most wonderful furiends and friends from all over the world and we lubs them all very much. The last thing we’d like to leave you all with is this…Please never shop, always adopt!! And spay and neuter your pets!! 🙂
